# West Ham United: Fans react to latest injury news as Tomas Soucek ruled out for three weeks

**West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek has officially been ruled out of action for approximately three weeks after suffering a low-grade injury against Liverpool on Monday ([@WestHam](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1232312238389653504?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1232312238389653504%7Ctwgr%5E393535353b636f6e74726f6c&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fthisisfutbol.com%2F2020%2F02%2Fblogs%2Fpremier-league%2Fwest-ham-united-fans-gutted-with-injury-news-on-tomas-soucek%2F)).**

The Czech Republic international has picked up a hip flexor issue, with the Hammers’ Head of Medical Services Richard Collinge suggesting that they expect him to be back after the international break in March ([whufc.com](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/february/25-february/tomas-soucek-update)). Soucek only joined the club on loan from Slavia Prague on January 29th but he went straight into their team, starting in each of their last three Premier League outings ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/tomas-soucek/leistungsdaten/spieler/283628)).

It is therefore a blow for them to lose him for a period in which he could miss vital games against Southampton, Arsenal, Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/west-ham-united/spielplan/verein/379/saison_id/2019)) as they battle to avoid relegation to the Championship.

Naturally, plenty of West Ham fans are absolutely gutted to see that their new signing is set for a short spell on the sidelines. Many of them have taken to Twitter to respond to the news; here is what some had to say…

> This is just so typical of us
