# West Ham United: Hammers in line to land Youssef En-Nesyri this summer

**According to reports from Spain, West Ham United are the best-positioned team in the race to sign Sevilla centre-forward Youssef En-Nesyri this summer.**

The report by Spanish outlet [La Razon](https://www.larazon.es/laotraliga/20210418/us5d26xyhzbwjdlqoxgazzsjva.html) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/west-ham-best-positioned-team-race-signing/)) claimed that Sevilla have thus far failed in their attempts to tie down En-Nesyri to a new contract at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, meaning that the La Liga side could look to sell the 23-year-old this summer.

With West Ham having already reportedly made Julen Lopetegui’s side a €30m (£25m) offer for the Morocco international back in January, [La Razon](https://www.larazon.es/laotraliga/20210418/us5d26xyhzbwjdlqoxgazzsjva.html) have now claimed that, with Champions League qualification in their sights, the Hammers could be prepared to up their offer to €46m (£40m) for the striker at the end of the season.

The report added that David Moyes’ side are the “best-positioned” team to land the [£49,000-per-week](https://salarysport.com/football/player/youssef-en-nesyri/#:~:text=Youssef%20En%2DNesyri%20earns%20%C2%A3,contract%20expires%20June%2030%2C%202025.) marksman.

### Transfer Tavern Take

Considering that the Hammers did indeed [submit an offer for En-Nesyri](https://twitter.com/david_ornstein/status/1351071885681942534) earlier this year, in addition to their [failure to bring in another striker](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/transfers/verein/379/plus/1?saison_id=2020&pos=&detailpos=&w_s=w) in the January transfer window, it is not surprising to read that the east Londoners are once again interested in the Moroccan.

With the 23-year-old having impressed over his 45 appearances for Sevilla so far this season, bagging [22 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youssef-en-nesyri/leistungsdaten/spieler/433049), he would seem to be an ideal candidate to improve to Moyes’ attacking arsenal at West Ham this summer, especially with a [dearth of centre-forwards](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/kadernachposition/verein/379) at London Stadium.
