# West Ham United: Hammers make contact for Ivan Toney

**According to a report by West Ham United insiders [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/hammers-keep-eye-on-new-striker-option/), the Irons have been talking to Brentford ace Ivan Toney’s representatives over a possible summer move – with yet another striker seriously on the radar it would seem.**

### West Ham insiders shares Toney news

This comes as links to Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham [continue to heat up](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-fc-ac-milan-west-ham-40m-tammy-abraham-b932614.html) with ExWHUemployee recently revealing that he is top of the Hammers’ list of preferred forwards ([Patreon](https://www.patreon.com/posts/antonio-update-49757042)).

However, bringing fresh information, [C&H](https://www.claretandhugh.info/hammers-keep-eye-on-new-striker-option/) explain that West Ham United have now contacted the representatives of Championship high-flyer Toney as an alternative option.

The 25-year-old forward has a contract with the Bees until 2025 and could demand a considerable transfer fee, valued at around £35 million according to a recent update by[Football League World.](https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/exclusive-brentfords-ivan-toney-demands-revealed-amid-arsenal-west-ham-leeds-united-interest/)

Regardless, West Ham are allegedly in the fray alongside a host of Premier League clubs including Everton, Leeds, Wolves and Palace.

### Transfer Tavern take

He has been on fire for the promotion-chasing side this season and could be a huge signing if GSB manage to do a deal this summer.

Indeed, Toney has netted an extraordinary [29 goals and 10 assists in 42 Championship starts](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/134240/Show/Ivan-Toney) for Brentford and, at just 25, could prove a real snip for £35m.

You could argue he rivals Abraham in terms of top striking targets and has been heralded by figures in the media as ‘unplayable’ for his form over 2020/2021 ([David Cartlidge, ESPN](https://twitter.com/davidjaca/status/1359606948568707073)).

We therefore believe that he should be prioritised just as much as Abraham with manager David Moyes seeking to acquire a much-needed striker this summer.
