# West Ham United: Hammers now want Ukraine star Roman Yaremchuk

**According to a report by[the Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1450218/West-Ham-transfer-news-Gent-Ukraine-striker-Roman-Yaremchuk-Euro-2020), West Ham United now want Ukraine striker Roman Yaremchuk and it is believed he will ‘push hard’ for his next move this summer.**

### The Lowdown: West Ham and the striker chase…

Manager David Moyes reportedly has three main priorities in this summer window, namely a permanent deal for 2020/2021 loan sensation Jesse Lingard, a star centre-back and the acquisition of a new striker ([Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/candh-exclusive-moyes-wants-three-positions-filled/)).

Of the strikers linked in recent months, many have been named, including the likes of Tammy Abraham, Youssef En-Nesyri, Ivan Toney and Adam Armstrong ([ExWHUemployee](https://www.patreon.com/posts/exwhuemployee-49079836?utm_medium=post_notification_email&utm_source=post_link&utm_campaign=patron_engagement&token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJyZWRpc19rZXkiOiJpbnN0YW50LWFjY2Vzczo3M2JjNWI0Yi0wYzc3LTRhMjktYmE3Mi02MzVjYmJkZjU5ZTYifQ.X_dE9HYebEkhwoT_SQRAPUD5o_tlsM36hCBjjTffz7I)).

Many others are now coming out of the woodwork as the transfer window opens, with Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah most recently linked as well ([Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1404489354970607617)).

It is believed he will ‘push hard’ for his next move this summer after having a stellar season with current club Gent.

Yaremchuk bagged[17 goals in the Belgian Pro League](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1450218/West-Ham-transfer-news-Gent-Ukraine-striker-Roman-Yaremchuk-Euro-2020) last season and stands at a towering 6 foot 3 – potentially marking him out as a good fit for the physicality of the Premier League.

### The Verdict: Solid option…

The summer window is still young and West Ham will want to assess the best possible forward options before making any concrete swoops.

Yaremchuk emerges as a potentially fruitful name to enter the fray going by his stance on an exit this summer and fairly impressive tally in front of goal over 20/21 – having managed 23 strikes in all competitions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/roman-yaremchuk/leistungsdaten/spieler/221958)).

Valued at around [£13.5 million by Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/roman-yaremchuk/leistungsdaten/spieler/221958), he could also prove to be a less expensive alternative to the likes of Abraham who may cost around[£40m](https://twitter.com/Matt_Law_DT/status/1387344853181272065?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1387344853181272065%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.avillafan.com%2F33639%2Fchelsea-officially-slap-40-million-price-tag-on-former-villa-loanee-tammy-abraham%2F) by comparison.
