# West Ham United: Hammers react as ExWHUemployee drops Divock Origi claim

**Writing on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/ExWHUemployee/status/1352201390471393280), reliable club insider and West Ham United source ExWHUemployee dropped his verdict on the GSB striker chase – saying the Irons [could turn to Liverpool striker Divock Origi](https://twitter.com/ExWHUemployee/status/1352201390471393280) given their past interest.**

As a result of his view, many Hammers have flocked to discuss Origi as a potential January incoming, with lots of supporters thinking he would be a great addition and some offering different takes.

The Belgian, who has been largely left out by Jurgen Klopp this campaign, was given his chance to impress on Thursday evening against Burnley in a rare start – but the [29-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148368) striker failed to capitalise.

Indeed, offered the chance to end his ongoing goal drought, Origi squandered an opportunity when one-on-one with Nick Pope – striking the crossbar in a first half attempt to put the Reds in front.

Liverpool went on to lose their unbeaten run at Anfield as Sean Dyche’s side nicked a 1-0 win, with West Ham fans discussing the possibility of signing Origi as the evening unfolded.
