# West Ham United: Insider shares big Tomas Soucek contract update

**As per [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/soucek-talks-scheduled-over-next-few-days/), a big update has recently come to light involving West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek and his proposed new deal the club.**

### The Lowdown: Soucek contract in the pipeline?

[Football.london](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/news/west-ham-players-contract-talks-23104571) back that Soucek, alongside winger Jarrod Bowen, are in line for potential new deals at the London Stadium following their contribution over these last two seasons.

The Czech Republic international, despite some [question marks surrounding his form](https://thisisfutbol.com/2022/02/blogs/premier-league/west-ham/west-ham-tomas-soucek-off-the-pace-against-newcastle/) this campaign, won the [2021 Hammer of the Year award last season](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/august/06-august/west-ham-united-supporters-crown-tomas-soucek-202021-betway#:~:text=Tom%C3%A1%C5%A1%20Sou%C4%8Dek%20has%20been%20crowned,the%20Club's%20record%2Dbreaking%20season.) whilst impressing supporters.

Soucek, as a result, looks set to be offered a new deal as C&H share an update on the situation.

### The Latest: C&H share update…

According to [the club insider](https://www.claretandhugh.info/soucek-talks-scheduled-over-next-few-days/), a source close to the West Ham first-teamer has revealed that more talks are scheduled with Soucek ‘over the the next few days’.

It is believed that the player’s advisors will be looking for as close to £100,000-per-week as possible with there being a very keen West Ham desire to tie down David Moyes’ most crucial players – including Soucek.

### The Verdict: Get it done?

Soucek’s imperious form over 2020/2021 indicates he is certainly a player worth keeping and tying down to fresh terms.

As they potentially look to fend off suitors for the 26-year-old, pundit Paddy Kenny recently raved over the prospect of tying down the player – calling it a would-be ‘massive statement’ and ‘boost for the whole club’ ([Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/tomas-soucek-incredible-claim-issued-after-west-ham-sources-update-today-pundit/)).

Bearing this in mind, we believe securing Soucek to a new deal should be a top priority for owners GSB.
