**West Ham United are struggling to diagnose the exact injury that Jarrod Bowen is suffering with, claims Evening Standard journalist Jack Rosser.**

### The Lowdown: Bowen’s injury

During the [Hammers’ 1-0 loss to Liverpool](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12555635/liverpool-1-0-west-ham-sadio-mane-survives-tight-var-call-for-first-half-winner-as-reds-left-to-hold-on) earlier in the month, the 25-year-old was forced into a premature exit after sustaining an injury to his foot, which saw to his substitution in the [53rd minute.](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-west-ham-united/teams/446561)

*“Feeling is a small fracture but scans have not shown that so far and there are fears he could miss 1st leg vs Lyon.”*

### The Verdict: Huge blow

If the news is true and the former Hull City man is out for the Irons’ Europa League clash against Lyon, this will come as a huge blow for Moyes, as he will once again be without his side’s [top goalscorer.](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/west-ham-united/top-scorers)
