# West Ham United: Many fans have shown their support for Michail Antonio

**Michail Antonio has spoken about some of the mental struggles that he has faced as part of being a professional footballer.**

Rather than that being in connection with injuries, as can be the case with many players, Antonio has opened up on the rollercoaster of emotions that can come from being in and out of the team, on [**MOTDx**](https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0008cc1):

> Honesty and openness. We’re with you, [@Michailantonio](https://twitter.com/Michailantonio?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [pic.twitter.com/fKEHo1mKig](https://t.co/fKEHo1mKig)

While the rigours of being a professional footballer are not something that many can relate to, he also portrayed an important message of talking during his tough times and how that helped him.

This has seen many West Ham fans, as well as supporters of other clubs, commend him for being so open, while also offering support for the 29-year-old.

A lot of those within the Hammers fanbase regard the club as a family, with this attitude being displayed in the replies to the club’s tweet.

A selection of Twitter reaction to the video, including posts from proud West Ham fans, can be seen below:
