# West Ham United: Price set for out-of-favour Felipe Anderson

**West Ham United have set a price tag for Felipe Anderson next summer as they aim to lower their wage bill, reports suggest.**

### Anderson on his way out

The 27-year-old is currently on loan at Liga NOS champions FC Porto after a forgetful 2019/20 campaign with the Hammers, scoring just once and providing four assists from 20 starts ([Whoscored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/93026/History/Felipe-Anderson)).

Former Premier League striker Darren Bent told [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/let-him-go-exclusive-bent-reacts-as-west-ham-may-be-forced-into-shock-sale/) last year that Anderson was “too inconsistent”. David Moyes appeared to acknowledge this by offloading the Brazilian.

According to [Claret and Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/hammers-could-write-off-another-30m-this-summer/), West Ham will look to sell Anderson for a fee in the region of £17m next summer and would be willing to take a significant loss on the [£34m](https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/soccer/english-soccer/west-ham-sign-felipe-anderson-from-lazio-for-club-record-fee-1.3565672) figure that they paid Lazio in 2018.

Earning an annual salary of [£4.4m-per-year](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/west-ham-united-fc/payroll/) at the London Stadium, Anderson had a strong start to life but was not able to capitalise on his [nine goals from 36 starts](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/93026/History/Felipe-Anderson) during the 2018/19 season.

### Transfer Tavern Verdict

West Ham are having a fantastic season so far and Moyes’ side cannot afford to have any loose baggage – as they aim to compete in Europe next season.

We believe that this will be the best move for both parties, considering he is not getting a huge amount of game time at Porto either.

With just [four appearances and 120 minutes of game time](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/93026/Show/Felipe-Anderson) in Liga NOS so far, the summer will be the best opportunity to cut ties with Anderson once and for all.
