# Leeds: Whites eyeing Ange Postecoglou move

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) have placed Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou on their managerial radar, according to Italian journalist [Marco Conterio](https://twitter.com/marcoconterio/status/1622614635345072128?s=46&t=SEa5CgeA2W8oArJ4VUnDHA).**

### The Lowdown: Marsch gone

The Whites [officially](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/30997/club-statement-jesse-marsch) parted ways with Jesse Marsch on Monday, less than 24 hours after a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. Marsch departs Elland Road after 11 months in charge, with Leeds [without](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63339426) a top-flight victory since November and [level on points](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) with Everton, who occupy the final relegation spot.

Owner Andrea Radrizzani and Paraag Marathe, the president of investors 49ers Enterprises, appear to have the [key say](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11715853/amp/West-Brom-boss-Carlos-Corberan-emerges-potential-candidate-replace-Jesse-Marsch-Leeds.html) when it comes to managerial decisions, and it looks as if Postecoglou is now of interest.

### The Latest: Postecoglou interest

Conterio, chief editor for [TuttoMercatoWeb](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/), took to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/marcoconterio/status/1622614635345072128?s=46&t=SEa5CgeA2W8oArJ4VUnDHA) following Marsch’s dismissal to share a Leeds managerial update.

He stated that Victor Orta is a great admirer of West Brom boss Carlos Corberan, however, both Postecoglou and former Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard are also on the list of potential successors.

### The Verdict: One to watch?

Postecoglou has transformed things at Celtic Park after taking over in June 2021, winning a league and cup [double](https://www.transfermarkt.com/ange-postecoglou/erfolge/trainer/11929) during his first season in charge and averaging [2.46](https://www.transfermarkt.com/ange-postecoglou/stationen/trainer/11929/plus/1) goals per game in Scotland.

The 57-year-old has continued to impress during the current campaign, winning [23](https://www.transfermarkt.com/ange-postecoglou/profil/trainer/11929) of a possible [25](https://www.transfermarkt.com/ange-postecoglou/profil/trainer/11929) Scottish Premiership games (92%). He also likes to play an [attacking 4-3-3 system](https://www.transfermarkt.com/ange-postecoglou/profil/trainer/11929), so could get the best out of a number of wide [options](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/kader/verein/399) at Elland Road that include Wilfried Gnonto, Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra and Crysencio Summerville.

Marsch tended to play a [narrow system](https://analyticsfc.co.uk/blog/2022/09/15/minimal-width-maximum-gain-jesse-marschs-leeds-united/) during his time in charge, so a change of approach with someone like Postecoglou could help turn things around, making this potentially one to watch.
