# Wife of prolific forward confirms £43m Arsenal and Spurs talks

**The North London derby needs very stoking, though the proverbial silly season will stoke it none the less.**

With both sides, for the first time in a while, gearing up for a Champions League campaign, both the Emirates Stadium and White Hart Lane have been mooted as potential landing spot for a number of illustrious stars from around the footballing world this summer.

One of those is Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi, who has been [linked](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/1424181/inter-milan-slap-staggering-43million-price-tag-on-tottenham-target-mauro-icardi/) with a [£43m](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/1424181/inter-milan-slap-staggering-43million-price-tag-on-tottenham-target-mauro-icardi/) move away from the San Siro this summer after falling out with manager Roberto Mancini.

Now, the player’s wife Nera, has confirmed to Italian outlet *Corriere della Sera* (via [CalcioMercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/wanda-nara-juventus-have-offered-more-than-e-50m-for-icardi-tott-686195)) that both clubs ARE interested in the 23-year old in a bid to cure their striking conundrums.

“There are many offers, but I do not negotiate with other clubs. I only talk about Mauro’s contract, that’s my role, not doing negotiations. Atletico Madrid, Tottenham and Arsenal have made contact. Napoli and AS Roma are also interested now,” she [revealed](https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/wanda-nara-juventus-have-offered-more-than-e-50m-for-icardi-tott-686195).

Though the former Sampdoria man saw his progress stall last term, he remains one of the hottest prospects on the continent and notched an impressive 16 goals for the *Nerazzurri* last term.
