Four games to go, two points ahead of Salford City, and Leyton Orient are starting to show cracks in the system.
Five points from a possible 12 in their last four games has turned what looked like a guaranteed title win for the O’s into a three-way race for the National League title, and for Justin Edinburgh’s side, the wheels can simply not come off heading into the final matches of the season.
The form has been poor recently, but there is some good news for Orient going into their weekend trip to Sutton United as they will be joined by captain Jobi McAnuff as well as defender Jamie Turley, two players who were absent from the last four games due to injury.
With a fully fit side going into the must-win game against their London rivals, there are no excuses for Edinburgh to go and get the three points against the side that currently sit ninth in the league table.
And with Salford playing at home to National League dwellers Maidenhead United and kicking-off before Orient, the O’s will have that extra bit of pressure to get a good result over Sutton.
Leyton Orient have been the best team in the National League for the majority of the season, but with the pressure beginning to get to them and results not going their way, the return of the club captain will give them the motivation they need to get the wins they need to cross over the finish line as National League champions.
Orient fans, can the club get a result over Sutton this weekend? Let us know!
