Two games in the span of four days is a gruelling task for any team, but for Leyton Orient, they know they aren’t in a position to be making excuses.
With three games of the season left to go, there is no room to allow for any more hiccups if Orient are to claim promotion back into the Football League, and their game Monday afternoon against third-place Solihull Moors could be the match that decides their outcome for the season.
But between now and then, the O’s have a match they simply must win, their penultimate game at home against Harrogate Town, and although fans and players will be looking towards next week’s game against Solihull as the big one out of their remaining fixtures, Orient can’t lose focus on their equally important encounter at Brisbane Road.
Three points and a solid performance on Friday will be the perfect way to go into Monday’s crucial game, but players and Edinburgh can’t lose focus on the match against Harrogate and treat it as just another game.
Orient will realistically need nine points out of nine to finish the season champions of the National League, and we have seen in recent week the east London side starting to slip up in games many would expect them to win.
Comeback wins against Eastleigh and Sutton United have salvaged Edinburgh six points from losing positions, but going into Friday he will be banking on his side getting the job done without any hassle as a way to set the players up mentally for the massive match against Solihull on Monday.
Leyton Orient fans, can the O’s win their remaining three games? Let us know!
