Portsmouth might not have been able to secure promotion to the Championship through an automatic spot, but they still have the next best thing.
The play-offs provide Pompey with an excellent chance to return back to England’s second-tier after just two seasons in League One, and with Sunderland being their semi-final opposition, Kenny Jackett’s side have a good opportunity of making it to the final if they can keep their nerve and deliver in the two games.
With the legs taking place five days apart from each other, Jackett will have to rely on his squad depth to get Portsmouth over the line and to book their ticket back to Wembley for a second time this season, and on-loan striker Omar Bogle could have a major impact on Pompey’s fortunes.
The Cardiff City striker, who is valued at £450,000 on Transfermarkt, has been a useful player for Portsmouth this season since joining on loan this January, scoring five times in 11 appearances for the south coast side, and with the squad rotation likely to be a big factor to Pompey’s success, Bogle could have a big part to play in getting Pompey into the Championship.
The striker has always made an impact on the pitch whether it’s directly with a goal or in-directly with steady build-up, and Bogle’s contributions could be the difference between Portsmouth making it to Wembley or spending another season in League One.
Promotion is a must for Portsmouth this season, and Bogle has the qualities needed to help this historic side reach the Championship after an impressive loan spell on the south coast.
