# ‘Wish he would do it week in week out!’ – Newcastle fans react to star’s promising performance

**Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still trying to work out how they drew with Leeds last night after what should really have been three points.**

The Magpies were the dominant force for large swathes of the game in the north-east yesterday evening but instead of managing to hold on to their slender 1-0 lead, they let Chris Wood equalise right at the end of the game.

Certainly, then, it was a match the hosts really should have won but the Magpies’ supporters are trying to see the positives from the performance – of which there were many.

Indeed, one of those has to be the performance of Aleksandar Mitrovic who was a real nuisance throughout the game in the attacking areas.

It was a showing Newcastle fans know he is capable of, too, and in light of it they were quick to comment on Twitter:

> Mitrovic has been unreal tonight, proved a point.

> It’s no secret that I’m a Mitrovic fan, but to say he didn’t play well tonight is pure stupidity.

> [@GallowgateShots](https://twitter.com/GallowgateShots) Yeah, he was good. Was absolutely shattered by the end, you could see it.

> Mitrovic, Hayden, Mbemba & Anita all outstanding tonight.

> Didn’t rely on Shelvey/Ritchie for once.

> Mitrovic has been a different player tonight, his passion & desire is something else. Loves the club just wish he does it more often! [#NUFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/NUFC?src=hash)

> [@WShak1](https://twitter.com/WShak1) Thought Mitrovic was excellent again. Such a kick in the teeth though!
