# Wolverhampton Wanderers: Fans hail Matt Doherty who is a ‘great asset to the team’

**Lots of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have been hailing Matt Doherty after the official [Twitter](https://twitter.com/WolvesFC_latest/status/1258456565603946496) page of Wolves Live asked supporters to rate his season out of 10 so far.**

It is perhaps safe to say that the 28-year old is enjoying a stellar campaign in the Premier League based off his stats in the campaign so far. Doherty has scored four goals and also provided a handy assist in his 27 appearances in the 2019/2020, according to [Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/matt-doherty/143047).

These are arguably very impressive stats for a man who is a right-back by trade, but is given the licence to go forward at every reasonable opportunity by Portuguese coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

This is exemplified by the 10 big chances that he has unfortunately missed, as per the [website](https://www.sofascore.com/player/matt-doherty/143047). However, the Irish international still averages 1.8 accurate chipped passes and 1.4 accurate long balls per game in the top flight.

> 6 judging by the whole season. missed some sitters and been poor defensively. When he’s on form though. A solid 9.
