# Wolverhampton Wanderers: Fans praise Kenny Jackett after Tim Spiers interview with ex-Molineux manager

**A number of Wolves fans have hailed the contribution of former manager Kenny Jackett at Molineux in light of an interview he gave to Tim Spiers for [The Athletic](https://theathletic.co.uk/1732643/2020/04/10/wolves-kenny-jackett-nuno-fosun-manager/).**

The journalist posted a link to the interview on his Twitter profile [@TimSpiers](https://twitter.com/TimSpiers/status/1248558958299799553) and, in their discussion, the current Portsmouth manager spoke candidly about the unenviable situation in which he [took the Wolves job in 2013](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22731377).

> Kenny Jackett. One of football's good guys – and a very important figure in Wolves' recent history. An interview.

When Jackett arrived at Molineux, the club had been relegated from the Premier League to League One in successive seasons, with Spiers alluding to the extreme discord between the club and its fans at the time. However, the manager took Wolves back into the Championship at the first attempt with a record third-tier points total of 103 and only just missed out on the play-offs the following season. \[via [The Athletic](https://theathletic.co.uk/1732643/2020/04/10/wolves-kenny-jackett-nuno-fosun-manager/)\]

These Wolves fans on Twitter praised their former manager’s role in turning around their ailing fortunes and beginning the upward curve which has since led them into Europe:

> Superb read Tim and gives a good account of what a great job he did under pretty horrible circumstances towards the end. I’ll always remember him like most wolves fans, very fondly 👍🏻

> One of the better decisions Morgan made, did a great job for us we could have easily been stuck down there for years.
