# Wolves: Old Gold also discuss Leonardo Jardim

**[Wolverhampton Wanderers](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/) have discussed former Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim as a potential successor for Bruno Lage, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.**

### **The Lowdown: Beale in the lead**

Since [Lage’s sacking](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11699/12709921/bruno-lage-wolves-sack-head-coach-after-fourth-defeat-of-premier-league-season) on October 3rd, a plethora of potential candidates have been discussed behind the scenes at the Molineux.

Having been rejected by former Sevilla boss and number one target [Julen Lopetegui](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11699/12718509/wolves-rejected-by-julen-lopetegui-as-preferred-bruno-lage-successor-focuses-on-family) due to personal reasons, the Old Gold have been linked with the likes of former head coach [Nuno Espirito Santo](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/wolves-manager-latest-nuno-espirito-santo-talks-premier-league/) and Queens Park Rangers manager [Michael Beale.](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/wolves-liam-keen-shares-michael-beale-interest/)

More recently, Beale has been [confirmed](https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1582708254546591744?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet) as the front runner by The Athletic’s David Ornstein, but Jacobs believes they have a couple of plates spinning.

### **The Latest: Jardim in the mix**

The CBS reporter has shared his own update on Wolves’ manager hunt, name-dropping a new candidate being considered by the Midlands club.

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/JacobsBen/status/1582300059957612544), he revealed: *“Club have also discussed ex-Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim and already interviewed Rob Edwards. Sean Dyche not in the mix.”*

### **The Verdict: Good appointment**

Having also been [in charge](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leonardo-jardim/profil/trainer/10682) of the likes of Olympiacos, Sporting CP and SC Braga, the Venezuelan-born Jardim has a wealth of experience at the highest level.

With the Greek giants, the 48-year-old led the side to a [double trophy](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leonardo-jardim/erfolge/trainer/10682) haul in 2012/13, winning both the league and domestic cup. In 2016/17, the Portuguese boss knocked Paris Saint-Germain off their perch as Monaco clinched the [Ligue 1 title](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leonardo-jardim/erfolge/trainer/10682), and more recently, he led Al-Hilal Saudi FC to [AFC Champions League victory.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leonardo-jardim/erfolge/trainer/10682)

Hailed as [‘a very good coach’](https://www.si.com/soccer/chelsea/news/zsolt-low-praises-very-good-coach-leonardo-jardim-ahead-of-chelseas-club-world-cup-clash-vs-al-hilal) by former Chelsea assistant Zsolt Low, Jardim’s arrival at the Molineux would bring an experienced figure into the club.
