# Wolves: Adama Traore asking price reduced to £30m

**Wolves have reduced Adama Traore’s price tag to £30m after the Spaniard’s difficult campaign, according to a report from [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/traore-wolves-price-leeds-united-summer/).**

Their demands are said to have plummeted from the [£60m-70m fee](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-wolves-price-tag-for-traore-revealed-as-liverpool-sniff-stunning-deal/) which was quoted to suitors last year.

### Why are Wolves open to selling Traore?

Traore [has yet to score and provided just one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.us/adama-traore/leistungsdaten/spieler/204103/plus/1?saison=2020) this season in the Premier League, having racked up [a combined 13 goals and assists](https://www.transfermarkt.us/adama-traore/leistungsdaten/spieler/204103/plus/1?saison=2019) in 2019/20.

[Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/traore-wolves-price-leeds-united-summer/) also noted that talks over extending Traore’s deal – set to [expire in 2023](https://www.transfermarkt.us/adama-traore/profil/spieler/204103) – have broken down, hence Wolves’ openness to a sale.

The Spain international is one of the standout players in the Premier League because of his explosive pace and dribbling ability. He tops the division’s performance charts for successful dribbles per match on 4.1, comfortably ahead of Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin on 3.3 (via [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/252/Tournaments/2/Seasons/8228/Stages/18685/PlayerStatistics/England-Premier-League-2020-2021)).

### Transfer Tavern verdict

Traore is a better player than the headline numbers suggest. He may not have many assists under his belt, but he has racked up an *expected* assist total of 3.59 (via [Infogol](https://www.infogol.net/en/player/adama-traor%C3%A9/1268)). That’s more than the likes of Lucas Digne, Roberto Firmino and Hakim Ziyech (via [Understat](https://understat.com/league/EPL)).

He is being let down by his team-mates’ finishing, with Raul Jimenez’s absence clearly having a huge impact on Wolves’ potency in the final third. In 2019/20, Traore and Jimenez combined for 10 goals, [more than any other partnership in the league](https://www.premierleague.com/news/1670669). Indeed, from scoring [51 league goals](https://www.transfermarkt.us/wolverhampton-wanderers/platzierungen/verein/543) last season (1.34 per game), Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have managed just [28 in as many matches](https://www.transfermarkt.us/wolverhampton-wanderers/platzierungen/verein/543) so far this term.

If indeed the winger is available for as little as £30m, it is certainly worth a punt for a top club who wish to improve their attacking depth. Traore showed last season what he was capable of, so hopefully his labours will again start to bear fruit at Molineux.
