# Wolves: Fabrizio Romano provides Aaron Ramsey update

**Rumoured Wolves transfer target Aaron Ramsey is still likely to leave Juventus in the January transfer window, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.**

### The Lowdown: Ramsey linked with Wolves move

The 30-year-old was [linked](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aaron-ramsey-transfer-wolves-newcastle-21814144) with a move to Molineux last month, having ended up staying put in Italy after the summer transfer window.

Ramsey is not considered a key player for Juve after [only making one Serie A start](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/26820/Show/Aaron-Ramsey) so far this season, appearing for just 97 minutes of action overall.

It seems likely that the [69-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/profil/spieler/50057) Wales international’s future lies away from the Italian giants, with a return to the Premier League potentially on the cards.

### The Latest: Romano gives fresh update

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1457919297041403906?s=20) on Tuesday, Romano gave a fresh update regarding Ramsey’s future, admitting that Juve are still aiming to offload him in January:

> “Juventus are still planning to find a solution to sell Aaron Ramsey in January. He’s out of the plans and looking for a potential new challenge.”

The midfielder’s current deal in Turin [expires](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/profil/spieler/50057) in the summer of 2023, at which point he could leave on a free transfer.

### The Verdict: Still has plenty of quality

At 30, and with [numerous injury problems](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/verletzungen/spieler/50057) in the past, Ramsey may be more of a short-term fix at Wolves rather than a long-term solution.

That being said, his pedigree speaks for itself, with [18 goals scored](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/nationalmannschaft/spieler/50057/verein_id/3864) at international level, including two in European Championships, as well as [65 goals and 65 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/50057/verein/11) for Arsenal. He has also been [hailed](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/wales/euro-2020/news/joe-allen-lavishes-praise-on-gareth-bale-aaron-ramsey_451967.html) as ‘world-class’ by Wales team-mate Joe Allen.

Ramsey could offer Wolves’ midfield more of the kind of goal threat which can be lacking from the likes of [Joao Moutinho](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/16161/History/Jo%C3%A3o-Moutinho) and [Ruben Neves](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/238244/History/R%C3%BAben-Neves), giving Bruno Lage another exciting option in the middle of the park.
