# Wolves: Fans fume over Patrick Cutrone’s return to Molineux

**Many Wolves fans were left raging about the news that striker Patrick Cutrone was to return to the West Midlands.**

[DiMarzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/fiorentina-cutrone-on-the-verge-to-come-back-to-wolves) reported on Wednesday that the Black Country club’s [£23m](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11699/11773599/patrick-cutrone-signs-for-wolves-from-ac-milan-in-23m-deal) summer signing in 2019 could return to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side after a brief loan spell at Serie A side Fiorentina.

This was officially [confirmed](https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/first-team/20210107-cutrone-recalled-by-wolves/) by the club early on Thursday morning as the team aims to fill the void left by Raul Jimenez, who was ruled out with a [fractured skull](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11699/12146956/raul-jimenez-wolves-striker-comfortable-after-fractured-skull-operation) during their 2-1 win against Arsenal at the end of November.

During his time with La Viola, the Italian striker has scored just five goals and provided three assists in 34 appearances ([TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-cutrone/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/265078)), and has yet to score from just 11 appearances from the bench during the current campaign ([Whoscored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/329681/Show/Patrick-Cutrone)).

As a result, supporters were furious with the news, with some fans questioning about his overall capabilities in a gold and black shirt.
