# Wolves: Fans getting very worried after heavy home defeat to Chelsea

**Wolves’ wait for a first Premier League win of the season goes on after they were subjected to a [2-5 thrashing at home by Chelsea](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/09/14/wolves-2-chelsea-5-report/?rnd=7820432).**

On a day when the goals flowed for the visitors, [Express & Star writer Joe Edwards](https://twitter.com/JoeEdwards_Star) was left lamenting Wolves’ defending at Molineux. \[[via @JoeEdwards\_Star](https://twitter.com/JoeEdwards_Star/status/1172901401162387457)\]

> FT: Wolves 2-5 Chelsea. If Wolves carry on defending like this, that first Premier League win won't come anytime soon. [#wwfc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/wwfc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

Tammy Abraham was the standout player with a hat-trick for Chelsea, who had taken the lead through Fikayo Tomori and led 3-0 at half-time. \[[via Express & Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/09/14/wolves-2-chelsea-5-report/?rnd=7820432)\]

Abraham then put the ball into the net at either end and Patrick Cutrone’s late goal clawed back the deficit another bit further, but the three-goal gap was restored in stoppage time by Mason Mount. \[[via Express & Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/09/14/wolves-2-chelsea-5-report/?rnd=7820432)\]

[Romain Saiss and Jesus Vallejo both started in the Wolves defence, with Willy Boly suspended and Ryan Bennett omitted from the matchday squad](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/09/14/wolves-2-chelsea-5-report/?rnd=7820432), but the men at the back had a difficult afternoon, with Edwards writing in the [Express & Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/09/14/wolves-2-chelsea-5-report/?rnd=7820432) that the home side turned in “another dismal defensive display”, [dropping into the relegation zone](https://www.premierleague.com/tables?co=1&se=210&ha=-1) and now [conceding 10 goals in the league](https://www.premierleague.com/tables?co=1&se=210&ha=-1) this season.

These Wolves fans on Twitter seem very concerned about their team’s poor start to the Premier League campaign:

> So poor. What’s happened to the our biggest asset; a really strong Defence. I just think everyone is off the pace. Neves hasn’t had a good game yet, Coady struggling and no Doc. Jota also been average the last few games. I am sure it will turn around when players come into form

> … If this is a taster of how we’re going to defend this season then we’re going to be scrapping around in the basement trying to secure the 17th spot? [#veryworried](https://twitter.com/hashtag/veryworried?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

> 8 goals conceded in 2 matches not good crystal palace and Watford next in the league massive games for wolves now
