# Wolves: Fans laud Ruben Neves’ performance against Slovan Bratislava despite penalty miss

**A [stoppage-time header from Raul Jimenez](https://www.skysports.com/football/wolves-vs-slovan/420534) ensured a [third successive Europa League victory](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wolverhampton-wanderers/spielplan/verein/543) for Wolves, who defeated Slovan Bratislava 1-0 at Molineux last night.**

They could easily have been in front long before the Mexican’s late winner, though, as Ruben Neves had a [penalty saved by Dominik Greif](https://www.skysports.com/football/wolves-vs-slovan/420534) early in the second half.

Despite that faux pas from the Portugal midfielder, his performance was still commended after the game by [The Athletic](https://theathletic.co.uk/1343451/2019/11/04/neves-can-be-a-premier-league-and-worldwide-phenomenon-but-wolves-must-define-his-role-to-get-the-best-from-him/)‘s Wolves reporter Tim Spiers on Twitter \[[via @TimSpiers](https://twitter.com/TimSpiers/status/1192563415795023872)\].

He noted how Neves “[was influential again](https://twitter.com/TimSpiers/status/1192563415795023872)” in a central midfield role, having played in a more advanced position in his last two games after a lengthy spell in defensive midfield, as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ruben-neves/leistungsdaten/spieler/225161).

The 22-year-old completed 89 of his 100 passes on the night, more than any other player on the field, and also recorded five shots, second only to Jimenez.
