# Wolves: Fans hail Leander Dendoncker after Tim Spiers reveals compelling statistic

**Wolves’ Leander Dendoncker has found himself in the spotlight for all of the right reasons, receiving huge praise as a result.**

The 25-year-old has been an important figure for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side over the past two seasons, making a total of 35 starts in that time ([Whoscored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/124106/History/Leander-Dendoncker)).

This was further illustrated by the Portuguese tactician’s comments over the summer about the [10-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leander-dendoncker/nationalmannschaft/spieler/168157/verein_id/3382) Belgium international, describing him as a “fantastic footballer and a hard worker” (via [Express and Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2020/06/27/wolves-boss-nuno-im-so-happy-for-leander-dendoncker/)).

To add to this, The Athletic’s [Tim Spiers](https://twitter.com/TimSpiers/status/1319556898715258880) posted a statistic which shed further good light on Dendoncker. He revealed that, whenever the 6 foot 1 midfielder has started this season, Wolves have taken all three points and kept a clean sheet every time. When he doesn’t feature in the line-up, Nuno’s team have conceded seven goals and lost both encounters.

Understandably, many supporters were quick to praise the Belgian for the work that he’s put in for Wolves, highlighting that he is “criminally underrated”.

### Dendoncker receives waves of praise from Molineux faithful

> Unsung hero. Does all the dirty work and this limited sample says much. For all his defensive efforts he’s also only member of midfield to pop up in the box.

> One of the first names on the team sheet for me. Massively underrated by Wolves fans who prefer to speak about Neves/Moutinho.
