# Wolves: Fans react to Gedson Fernandes links

**Wolves are the latest English club to be linked with young Portuguese star Gedson Fernandes, [according to *Record* via Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/wolves-made-formal-offer-player-trying-secure-players-signing/).**

Fernandes is a player in demand, with the likes of [Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham also interested](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-make-55m-offer-man-21243451) in his signature.

[The 21-year-old has made 13 appearances for Benfica so far this season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gedson-fernandes/leistungsdaten/spieler/337800), and is [versatile enough to play in a range of positions across the midfield](https://breakingthelines.com/uncategorized/gedson-fernandes-the-latest-gem-from-benficas-academy/). According to [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gedson-fernandes/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/337800), he was made 38 of his 96 career appearances in engine room roles aside from his more natural central berth.

The report claims that Benfica want €40 million for the youngster, who has earned two senior caps for Portugal.

Wolves already have a strong contingent of Portuguese players, with the likes of Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Diogo Jota and Ruben Vinagre all currently playing under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Their association with super-agent Jorge Mendes may give them an advantage in the pursuit of the youngster’s signature with Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones [suggesting](https://twitter.com/DeanJonesBR/status/1215246579277484032) Mendes was working alongside his compatriot and that a Premier League move could be likely.

The latest update on Fernandes has excited many Wolves fans, here’s how some of them reacted to the news:

> Would be great it true. If it were down to which manager he can see himself developing more\
> Nuno vs Moyes [#nocontest](https://twitter.com/hashtag/nocontest?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) Unfortunately it will simply be a case of [#wwfc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/wwfc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) not being able to compete with wages
