# Wolves: Fans react to Joao Palhinha update

**Wolverhampton Wanderers have put Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha at the top of their summer transfer target list, as reported by [Molineux News](https://www.molineux.news/transfer-news/wolves-transfer-news-sporting-midfielder-joao-palhinha-now-a-priority-signing/).**

As rumours swirl over the future of Portuguese international star Ruben Neves in the West Midlands \[[90MIN](https://www.90min.com/posts/wolves-to-sell-adama-traore-ruben-neves-to-raise-transfer-funds-exclusive)\], the Wanderers have turned their attention towards the 25-year-old, who could turn out to be Bruno Lage’s first signing \[[BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57328554)\].

After returing from a loan spell at Braga, Palhinha was pretty much an ever-present figure for the Lisbon side in 2020/21 as he made 38 appearances in all competitions, registering two goals \[[Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joao-palhinha/leistungsdaten/spieler/257455)\].

Asserting his dominance over the Liga NOS, the recent Portugal cap obtained nine Man of the Match awards, which should come as great encouragement to the Wolves faithful \[[WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/322774/Show/Jo%C3%A3o-Palhinha)\].

In light of these recent developments, it was no wonder that loads of Wanderers diehards took to social media to salivate over the thought of his potential arrival in England.
