# Wolves: Fans react to local journalist’s player ratings

**Wolves came from behind to draw 1-1 against Manchester United at Molineux on Monday night, with Ruben Neves cancelling out Anthony Martial’s opener and Rui Patricio saving a second-half penalty from Paul Pogba. \[[via wolves.co.uk](https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/first-team/20190819-wolves-1-1-man-united-match-report/)\]**

After the match, [Express & Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/08/20/wolves-1-man-united-1-player-ratings/?rnd=430845) writer Joe Edwards ([@JoeEdwards\_Star](https://twitter.com/JoeEdwards_Star)) tweeted a link to his player ratings from the game, summarising that there was a broad gamut of marks awarded.

Unsurprisingly, Neves and Patricio were rated highly off the back of their involvement in two of the game’s key moments, [both players receiving eight](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/08/20/wolves-1-man-united-1-player-ratings/?rnd=430845).

However, neither of the Portugal duo were given Edwards’ highest mark of the night. The [only nine rating went to Adama Traore](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/08/20/wolves-1-man-united-1-player-ratings/?rnd=430845), who [came on at half-time](https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/first-team/20190819-wolves-1-1-man-united-match-report/). The man he replaced, Matt Doherty, was the [lowest-rated player with only five](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/08/20/wolves-1-man-united-1-player-ratings/?rnd=430845).

There were [sevens for Willy Boly, Leander Dendoncker, Joao Moutinho, Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/08/20/wolves-1-man-united-1-player-ratings/?rnd=430845), while [Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady and Jonny were all awarded six](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/08/20/wolves-1-man-united-1-player-ratings/?rnd=430845). Late substitutes Pedro Neto and Patrick Cutrone [weren’t given a rating](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/08/20/wolves-1-man-united-1-player-ratings/?rnd=430845).

These Wolves fans on Twitter gave their take on Edwards’ player ratings:

> Can't argue with those…

> Agree with the ratings. Not sure Doc is 100% fit. He’s languid at the best of times but looked downright pedestrian last night

> Coady a 6 ???? Broke up a lot of attacks first half.

> Can’t agree with Jonny. Thought he was absolutely superb considering he was single handily dealing with DJ and AWB most of the evening. He was tenacious and provided good support down the left. Again, for me, Joao was our best midfielder and his pressing 2nd half was immense.
