# Wolves: Fans react to Vitinha latest

**There is now a ‘strong belief’ that Wolverhampton Wanderers will sign Vitinha on a permanent deal this summer, according to Portuguese newspaper [Jornal de Noticias](https://www.jn.pt/desporto/destino-de-vitinha-e-mesmo-o-wolverhampton-13908293.html).**

The 21-year-old is expected to join later this month and a sign a four or five-year deal at Molineux.

### Why isn’t Vitinha a Wolves player already?

Wolves had the option to buy Vitinha for [£18million](https://theathletic.co.uk/2665256/2021/06/21/wolves-transfer-news-ait-nouri-and-vitinha-options-neves-and-the-need-for-midfield-reinforcements/) following his season-long loan [until the end of June](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wolves-porto-transfer-vitinha-deadline-20931953).

But they [weren’t entirely convinced](https://theathletic.co.uk/2665256/2021/06/21/wolves-transfer-news-ait-nouri-and-vitinha-options-neves-and-the-need-for-midfield-reinforcements/) his performances and wanted to assess other options in the same position.

The Athletic’s Tim Spiers [has reported](https://theathletic.co.uk/2665256/2021/06/21/wolves-transfer-news-ait-nouri-and-vitinha-options-neves-and-the-need-for-midfield-reinforcements/) the final decision on whether to pursue a permanent transfer rests with new boss Bruno Lage.

Wolves could now theoretically try to negotiate a deal for less than £18million, as they have done with Rayan Ait-Nouri. The left-back is [set to join](https://theathletic.co.uk/2665256/2021/06/21/wolves-transfer-news-ait-nouri-and-vitinha-options-neves-and-the-need-for-midfield-reinforcements/) for less than half the optional fee that was included in the loan agreement.

Fan Twitter feed [Talking Wolves](https://twitter.com/TalkingWolves/status/1412324549476114435) relayed the Vitinha report, and here’s what supporters made of it.
