# Wolves: Fans react to Willy Boly’s Ivory Coast call-up

**Wolves defender Willy Boly has been called up to the senior Ivory Coast squad for the first time, as reported by the [Express & Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/09/05/wolves-defender-willy-boly-earns-first-ivory-coast-call-up/).**

Wolves fan channel [@TalkingWolves](https://twitter.com/TalkingWolves/status/1169563958824656896) on Twitter subsequently congratulated him on being selected for [Ibrahima Kamara](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ibrahima-kamara/profil/trainer/31555)‘s squad.

> Congratulations to Willy Boly who has been called up to represent Ivory Coast for the first time! The 28-year-old centre-back [represented France at several underage levels](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/willy-boly/nationalmannschaft/spieler/142310) but had [never been selected for senior recognition by Les Bleus](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/willy-boly/nationalmannschaft/spieler/142310), and he qualifies for Ivory Coast [due to the nationality of his parents](https://news.abidjan.net/h/461420.html).

As noted by the [Express & Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2019/09/05/wolves-defender-willy-boly-earns-first-ivory-coast-call-up/), Boly is among several England-based players in the Elephants’ squad for their upcoming friendlies against Benin and Tunisia, with Wilfried Zaha, Nicolas Pepe, Serge Aurier and Yakou Meite also included.

Boly has been an integral presence of Wolves’ first team since [arriving at the club in 2017](https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/first-team/20170708-willy-boly/), making [87 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/willy-boly/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/142310) across the last couple of years and scoring [seven goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/willy-boly/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/142310).

However, for various reasons, these Wolves fans on Twitter didn’t seem too jubilant at hearing of his international call-up:
