# Wolves: Fans send birthday greetings to Barry Douglas

**Former Wolves defender Barry Douglas yesterday celebrated his 30th birthday and the club’s official Twitter channel [@Wolves](https://twitter.com/Wolves/status/1169247912573964288) marked the occasion with a video clip of one of the player’s goals.**

The clip in question was that of a sumptuous free kick that the [Scotland international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/barry-douglas/profil/spieler/91854) scored at Molineux against Leeds, [whom he joined from Wolves last year](https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/23587/douglas-signs), during the 2017/18 season.

That was the only season in which Douglas was at Wolves, but he still made 42 appearances in total for the club, 39 of which came during their promotion-winning Championship campaign. \[[via TransferMarkt.co.uk](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/barry-douglas/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/91854)\]

He ended that season with [five goals and an impressive 15 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/barry-douglas/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/91854), the latter figure the [highest of anyone in the Wolves squad in 2017/18](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wolverhampton-wanderers/leistungsdaten/verein/543/reldata/%262017/plus/1), and his performances that season led to him getting his [first Scotland call-up](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43369364), and subsequently his [national team debut](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/mar/22/barry-douglas-interview-scotland-wolves), in March 2018.
