# Wolves: Tim Spiers’ transfer update on Rayan Ait-Nouri has many fans excited

**Many Wolves fans have been reacting with delight to the news that young French left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri will be coming to the club in place of the outgoing Ruben Vinagre.**

To10 (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/club-find-deal-sign-wolves-player-lots-excitement-report/)) revealed on Friday that the 21-year-old Portuguese left-back was on his way to Olympiakos on a season-long loan with the option, which was described by the publication as the “icing on the cake” in a bizarre statement.

The 19-year-old Ligue 1 defender will not only take his place but his shirt number as well, according to The Athletic’s [Tim Spiers](https://twitter.com/TimSpiers/status/1312011355537498116).

Ait-Nouri has been [linked](https://www.footmercato.net/a2398270750877547510-manchester-united-et-manchester-city-passent-a-laction-pour-rayan-ait-nouri) with a host of Premier League clubs, including both Manchester United and Manchester City, but super-agent Jorge Mendes has appeared to work his magic once more to get this deal over the line.

The left-back has been in and around the first team at Angers since the 2018/19 season and has gone on to make 23 appearances during that time, providing four assists, as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rayan-ait-nouri/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/578391).

These Wolves fans took to Twitter to voice their delight with the impending deal:

> Nice bit of business… liked Vinagre early stages but never seemed to mature as a footballer, stupid fouls and countless step overs 🤯 Ruthless Wolves again 👏🐺 [https://t.co/lnzfobHM2I](https://t.co/lnzfobHM2I)

> I don’t think this has been the most impressive window by [#wwfc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/wwfc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw), but I do like how ruthless we’ve been.

> Vinagre played 33 times last season and hasn’t progressed, so Wolves are replacing him with a younger player with a higher ceiling at no immediate expense. Smart. [https://t.co/RpNfMX9qmN](https://t.co/RpNfMX9qmN)

> Sounds like a good deal to me. I’ve said it often, I like Vinagre, but he’s too attacking for this team. Jonny offers control with his play. Vinagre hasn’t learned this. Semedo is the same too
