# Wolves: Fans urge Nuno to sign Diego Costa in January

**Many [Wolves](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/wolves/) fans reacted in delight after their club was linked with former Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.**

[Reports](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/13600950/wolves-diego-costa-transfer-chelsea-atletico-madrid/) suggested that the former Chelsea frontman is being targeted by the Black Country club for a possible move to Molineux, after he was released from his contract with El Atleti.

This means that Nuno could land the 32-year-old on a free transfer if contract terms can be agreed between the two parties.

Costa has had a successful career as a whole, having scored 181 goals throughout his career, including 58 strikes for Chelsea and 83 for the red half of the Spanish capital ([TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diego-costa/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/44779)).
