# Wolves: Fans want Conor Coady rested for Reading game

**Wolves enter the Carabao Cup in the third round tomorrow night when they welcome Reading to Molineux for their third match in as many competitions inside seven days. \[[via TransferMarkt.co.uk](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wolverhampton-wanderers/spielplandatum/verein/543)\]**

Ahead of the game, the [Express & Star’s Wolves correspondent](https://twitter.com/JoeEdwards_Star) Joe Edwards shared his preferred team selection on his Twitter account [@JoeEdwards\_Star](https://twitter.com/joeedwards_star/status/1176188194993377282?s=21).

> This is how I'd go against Reading in the League Cup on Wednesday. Coady, Bennett and Neves bring the experience, Traore and Vinagre bring the pace, and Gibbs-White, Neto and Jordao are Wolves' exciting youngsters. What do you think? He has called for a mixture of youth and experience, as well as the pace of his preferred wing-backs Ruben Vinagre and Adama Traore.

If Wolves line out as Edwards has suggested, Conor Coady and Traore would be the only two players who [started Sunday’s Premier League draw at Crystal Palace](https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/first-team/20190922-palace-1-1-wolves-match-report/) to also feature from the start against Reading.

Edwards’ suggested line-up would see Bruno Jordao [come in for his Wolves debut](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bruno-jordao/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/415646), John Ruddy make just his [second appearance of the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/john-ruddy/leistungsdaten/spieler/29712) and Pedro Neto handed only his [second start for the club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-neto/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/487465/verein/543).

On the other end of the scale, the [ever-present Coady](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-coady/leistungsdaten/spieler/128901) would have the opportunity to maintain that status for a [14th game this season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-coady/leistungsdaten/spieler/128901), but these Wolves fans on Twitter are hoping that the [club captain](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-coady/profil/spieler/128901) will be given a rare night off to make way for [youngsters such as Max Kilman and Dion Sanderson](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wolverhampton-wanderers/leistungsdaten/verein/543/plus/0?reldata=%262018):

> Sanderson instead of Coady ….. captain marvel should have a very well earned rest.

> I'd rest Coady and bring in Kilman.

> Coady needs a rest, I’d also not play Traore, play one of the kids or Doherty (needs minutes). Kilman should play and I’d also avoid Neves.

> Would not play Coady, Neves or Traore. They all need a rest. Give the cleaner a pair of boots if necessary. All first team players should be nowhere near Molineux on Wednesday night. Back home, feet up with a mug of Horlicks
