Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Julen Lopetegui has contacted Atletico Madrid defender Felipe over a possible move to Molineux.
The Lowdown: Felipe speculation
Wolves have already made three signings this month, with Matheus Cunha, Mario Lemina and Pablo Sarabia joining from Atletico Madrid, OGC Nice and Paris Saint-Germain respectively.
Cunha was the first through the door at Molineux, with Felipe linked with a move to the Midlands at the same time as the forward. The pair share the same agency, and it looks as if Lopetegui is still keen on a move for the 33-year-old defender.

According to Brazilian outlet UOL Sport, Felipe is expected to change clubs in 2023. He is out of contract at the end of the season, with Wolves and Inter Miami named in the report.
UOL Sport say that Lopetegui has ‘called Felipe to convince him of the transfer’, where he may end up reuniting with Cunha.
The Verdict: Needed?
Wolves have just four centre-back options available to Lopetegui, with Max Kilman the oldest at the age of 25. Kilman and Nathan Collins have been regulars so far this season, so you could say that the experience of someone like Felipe would be beneficial, with Wolves (27) conceding more Premier League goals than West Ham (25) and Everton (26), both of whom are in the relegation zone.
The Brazilian, who sports correspondent Simon Evans has lauded as ‘superb‘ as a result of his performances for Atletico, has made over 350 club appearances during his career, with over 250 of those coming for Atletico and FC Porto.
He has experience at the highest level in the Champions League but has been limited to just three La Liga appearances this season, so who knows, he could be convinced to join Lopetegui at Wolves following talks.
