# Wolves loan watch: Red card for Roderick Miranda, Rafa Mir makes brief cameo, Will Norris gets first league start

**In our Loan Watch feature series, the Football Transfer Tavern takes a look at how a selection of players from a particular club are faring whilst they are away from their parent side, and provide a brief update regarding their form.**

This week we take a look at a trio of on-loan Wolves players, two operating in the Football League and one in Portugal.

**Roderick Miranda**

While Famalicao are having an excellent season in Portugal’s Primeira Liga and [rescued a last-gasp point](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1396590/Live/Portugal-Liga-NOS-2019-2020-Braga-Famalicao) at the weekend, it hasn’t been a smooth campaign so far for defender Roderick Miranda.

On just his third start of the season, he was sent off 34 minutes into their 2-2 draw at Braga on Sunday night, having only recently returned from an injury that sidelined him for three games. \[[via TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/roderick-miranda/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/87856/plus/0/saison/2019/wettbewerb/PO1/verein/3329)\]

The 28-year-old will again be out of action as he now faces a suspension, although [promoted Famalicao](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-famalicao/platzierungen/verein/3329) are managing fine without him, still in the top three and with a six-point gap on Sporting Lisbon in fourth (as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/primeira-liga/tabelle/wettbewerb/PO1/saison_id/2019)).

**Rafa Mir**

Nottingham Forest’s 2-1 win over Luton was the [fourth consecutive Championship game](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafa-mir/leistungsdaten/spieler/361254) in which Rafa Mir made an appearance, but he only [came on for Lewis Grabban in stoppage time](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1381528/Live/England-Championship-2019-2020-Luton-Nottingham-Forest) at Kenilworth Road.

The 22-year-old striker has still managed just [one league start](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafa-mir/leistungsdaten/spieler/361254) under Sabri Lamouchi, the defeat to Wigan last month, and with forwards [Grabban and Sammy Ameobi on the scoresheet](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1381528/Live/England-Championship-2019-2020-Luton-Nottingham-Forest) as Forest [returned to winning ways following a pair of defeats](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafa-mir/leistungsdaten/spieler/361254), it looks as if the Spaniard will again be omitted from the starting line-up for [Saturday’s game against local rivals Derby](https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/252/Tournaments/7/England-Championship).

**Will Norris**

Goalkeeper Will Norris finally made his first League One start for Ipswich in their recent 3-1 win at Southend, having been restricted to Carabao Cup and EFL Trophy involvement up to then. \[[via TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/will-norris/leistungsdaten/spieler/285033)\]

While Emile Acquah’s late goal deprived him of a clean sheet, the 26-year-old still made two saves at Roots Hall, although he had a passing success rate of just 40%, with only 10 of his 25 passes finding a team-mate. \[[via WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1382446/Live/England-League-One-2019-2020-Southend-Ipswich)\]

Norris has had to [play second fiddle to Tomas Holy](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ipswich-town/leistungsdaten/verein/677) for most of the season at Portman Road, although he showed in the win at Southend that he is an able deputy when called upon.

Miranda’s red card at the weekend was quite a shame as he had just made his first back-to-back starts of the season at Famalicao and will now be forced to miss another batch of games.

The first-team prospects of Mir and Norris don’t look especially great either, given their struggles to get into the Nottingham Forest and Ipswich line-ups respectively, although the goalkeeper should take heart from finally getting a league game for the Tractor Boys.

Unfortunately from a Wolves perspective, none of the three are getting the minutes that they would likely need if they are to become a significant part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans at Molineux upon returning to the club.
