# Wolves: Luka Jovic rejected Wolves before Eintracht Frankfurt return

**Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic turned down an offer from Wolves before he returned to his former side, [according to reports](https://m.sportbild.bild.de/bundesliga/vereine/bundesliga/eintracht-frankfurt-welchem-top-klub-luka-jovic-absagte-74964826.sportMobile.html).**

### Jovic snubs Molineux move

The 23-year-old [rejoined](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/jovic-re-signs-for-eintract-frankfurt-on-loan) the Bundesliga club on loan from Real Madrid for the rest of the 2020/21 campaign, despite Nuno Espirito Santo’s alleged interest in the Serbia international.

In his professional career, Jovic has scored [53](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/257462) goals with three different clubs but only two of them have been for the Galacticos. Before his [£52.4m](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11835/11721655/real-madrid-set-to-sign-luka-jovic-from-eintracht-frankfurt) move to the Spanish capital in 2019, he was compared to Atletico Madrid superstar Luis Suarez by Serbia coach Mladen Krstajic (via [Bundesliga](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/luka-jovic-is-like-luis-suarez-barcelona-eintracht-frankfurt-serbia-krstajic-3135)).

[SportBILD](https://m.sportbild.bild.de/bundesliga/vereine/bundesliga/eintracht-frankfurt-welchem-top-klub-luka-jovic-absagte-74964826.sportMobile.html) revealed that several clubs, including Wolves, West Ham and Italian club AC Milan, were interested in his services but he only wanted a return to Germany.

Nuno [reportedly](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-transfer-rumours/wolves-black-country-club-receive-potential-boost-regarding-luka-jovic-pursuit/) been keen on bringing Jovic to the West Midlands after his star striker Raul Jimenez suffered a [fractured skull](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11699/12146956/raul-jimenez-wolves-striker-comfortable-after-fractured-skull-operation) before the New Year.

Despite this, Wolves didn’t hang around. [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11699/12193734/willian-jose-wolves-to-sign-real-sociedad-striker-on-loan-with-an-option-to-buy) revealed that they quickly moved to secure a deal for Real Sociedad star Willian Jose to come until the end of the season, with an option to buy.

### Transfer Tavern Verdict

While it looks like Wolves have secured the attacking reinforcements they were looking for, it appears that their first-choice option got away from them.

Saying that, they will be happy about the imminent arrival of the Brazilian from La Liga. Willian Jose has scored [62 goals from 170 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/willian-jose/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/122155) for Txuri-urdinak, who also has [experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/willian-jose/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/122155) playing at Europa League level.

There is no doubt that Nuno will be disappointed not to sign Jovic, but his decision to move back to the club that [made him](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/257462) is understandable. Nevertheless, the boss will surely be happy to get his hands on Willian Jose, who could be a key asset for the rest of the campaign.
