# Wolves: Luke Hatfield backs Adama Traore for summer exit

**Adama Traore could now leave Wolves next summer and even a January exit shouldn’t be ruled out, according to journalist Luke Hatfield.**

### The Lowdown: Constant Traore exit rumours

The 25-year-old has been continually [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-transfer-rumours/adama-traore-transfer-boost-18m/) with leaving Molineux in recent times, having struggled to be a key man under Bruno Lage.

Traore may have featured prominently against Liverpool last weekend but he has [only started nine](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/140088/Show/Adama-Traor%C3%A9) out of 15 Premier League matches this season.

The 5 foot 10 winger’s future looks set to lie away from the Midlands after not signing a new deal – his current one expires in [2023](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adama-traore/profil/spieler/204103), although it still remains unknown exactly when he will move on.

### The Latest: Hatfield provides fresh update

Speaking to [*Give Me Sport*](https://www.givemesport.com/1798120-wolves-transfer-news-january-exit-might-be-an-option-for-27m-ace), Hatfield admitted January and summer exits were possible, but hinted that the latter may be the more likely scenario:

> “For me, I think it’s one where in the summer we probably look and wonder whether he’s going to be off. January might be an option as well.”

### The Verdict: Time is up, Adama

It does feel as though Lage would be willing to see Traore leave, with a fresh challenge set to come his way in the coming months.

The key for Wolves is ensuring they receive [big money](https://www.molineux.news/transfer-news/ornstein-says-wolves-would-want-50m-to-sell-traore-on-deadline-day/) for a player who can be devastating on his day, with Jurgen Klopp once [describing](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jurgen-klopp-adama-traore-liverpool-20186548) him as ‘undefendable’, giving them more funds to spend on new signings.

Traore has had enough time to prove himself at Wolves, but [no goals and assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/140088/Show/Adama-Traor%C3%A9) this season further suggest he will forever lack end product and an ability to make correct decisions in key attacking areas.
