The Express & Star journalist Liam Keen was left hailing the performance of Chem Campbell as Wolves U21s won 2-1 at Stockport County on Tuesday night.

The Lowdown: Two wins from two

The U21s' win last night makes it two wins from two for them in the Papa John's Trophy, as they sit comfortably joint-top of their group alongside Port Vale.

The Valiants will be the next opponents for the Old Gold, who have already beaten Shrewsbury Town and now Stockport.

The Latest: Campbell hailed

Taking to Twitter during the game, Keen was especially impressed by the performance of Campbell, even going as far as to claim that he was a 'cut above' the level on show on the night:

"Chem Campbell, wow. A sublime solo run almost results in a goal, but the goalkeeper tips it around the post. He's been slightly quieter this half but is clearly a cut above this level."

The Verdict: More first-team opportunities needed

As Keen claims, Campbell is clearly too good to be playing for the U21s, and so needs to be given more opportunities to excel in the first team.

The 19-year-old made three key passes in total in the match, more than any of his teammates, while he also won seven individual duels, attempted five shots on goal, six dribbles and two crosses (SofaScore), constantly attacking and trying to make things happen.

He has already made four senior appearances for the Wanderers, including two so far this season (Transfermarkt), and should now be given more minutes amongst the first-team in order to further his development.
