Wolverhampton Wanderers' board have planned to speak with manager Bruno Lage after the team’s run of poor results, according to journalist Owen O’Brien.
The Lowdown: Slow start to the season
Wolves have experienced a difficult start to the 2022/23 campaign; they currently sit 17th in the Premier League table, having gained just six points from their opening seven games.
Their only win of the season so far has come against Southampton in a 1-0 victory, with three draws and three losses rounding off their poor form, having scored just three goals all season.

O’Brien has now revealed that the Midlands club's board are becoming impatient with Lage’s recent results, having spent £98m on signings this summer.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday in sharing a corresponding article for Medium.com, the journalist revealed: “Exclusive: Wolves are growing increasingly frustrated with recent results and Bruno Lage - Club are planning to speak with 46yo to discuss matter - Lack of goals a major concern. #WWFC”
He further added: “Understand Wolves planned on speaking to Lage before yesterday’s result - No indications on whether they’re keen on making change this early.”
The Verdict: Striker badly needed
Defensively, Wolves have looked solid this season. They have conceded just seven goals, three of which were from a free-scoring Man City side, with Jose Sa having kept an impressive three clean sheets.
At the other end, however, the story couldn’t be more different. With the injury issues suffered by Raul Jimenez this season, Wolves had been left without an out-and-out striker.
The club duly signed Sasa Kalajdzic from Stuttgart in a deal worth £15.5m plus add-ons. However, during the Southampton clash, he was forced off the pitch, later revealed to have ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.
After it was confirmed that the Austria international is out for at least six months, Lage turned to Diego Costa, who was a free agent after leaving Atlético Mineiro. However, with the former Chelsea man unavailable to start just yet, Wolves are desperate for one of their strikers to return to full fitness as soon as possible.
