The Lowdown: Neves steals the show
Ruben Neves, who captained the home side on the day, stole the show at Molineux this afternoon with a wonderful trademark strike from outside of the box capping off a brilliant individual performance.
Bunting was left in awe of his goal, while he also praised the 25-year-old’s ‘absolutely fabulous‘ passing, but unfortunately his team could not hold on as Allan Saint-Maximin scored a fine goal just before injury time to salvage a point for the visitors.
The Latest: Collins also praised
Taking to Twitter, Bunting was also full of praise for the performance of Collins, hailing the Wolves defender’s awareness and positional sense in particular as ‘top quality’.
The journalist gushed: “Nathan Collins is just such a good young defender. His awareness and positional sense are top quality. Dominates his area, nothing has gone past him this afternoon. Just so good at covering the ground and closing the space. Such a solid performance so far.”
The Verdict: Colossal performance
The summer signing from Burnley was simply colossal at the back for Bruno Lage’s team, despite them conceding so late on to deprive them of a first league win of the campaign.
Should Wolves start Collins?
It seems as if Collins has settled in very well at Molineux, especially given the loan departure of club captain fellow centre-back Conor Coady to Everton, and if the 21-year-old keeps up performances like this, there is no doubt that he will end up justifying his £20.5m price tag.
