Wolves' Leander Dendoncker has found himself in the spotlight for all of the right reasons, receiving huge praise as a result.

The 25-year-old has been an important figure for Nuno Espirito Santo's side over the past two seasons, making a total of 35 starts in that time (Whoscored).

This was further illustrated by the Portuguese tactician's comments over the summer about the 10-cap Belgium international, describing him as a "fantastic footballer and a hard worker" (via Express and Star).

To add to this, The Athletic's Tim Spiers posted a statistic which shed further good light on Dendoncker. He revealed that, whenever the 6 foot 1 midfielder has started this season, Wolves have taken all three points and kept a clean sheet every time. When he doesn't feature in the line-up, Nuno's team have conceded seven goals and lost both encounters.

Understandably, many supporters were quick to praise the Belgian for the work that he's put in for Wolves, highlighting that he is "criminally underrated".
