Everton are still 'in talks' with Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White over a summer move to the club, according to an update by Sky Sports.

The Lowdown: Gibbs-White on the move?

The youngster is back at Molineux after enjoying an excellent loan spell with Sheffield United last season, but it remains to be seen where his future lies.

Wolves are willing to offer Gibbs-White a new deal at the club but his head could be turned by interest from elsewhere, with numerous clubs keen on snapping him up.

Everton are one of those and it appears as though they are the front-runners to acquire his signature.

The Latest: Everton still 'in talks'

On Thursday, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth dropped a live on-air update regarding Gibbs-White's future, saying the Blues are still trying to get their man:

"Everton remain in talks with Wolves over the signing of their midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. There's still a gap in valuation - Wolves are yet to decide whether they want to sell.

"Wolves are looking in excess of £25million."

The Verdict: Feels like goodbye

With each passing week, the more it feels as though Gibbs-White isn't convinced about staying at Wolves, having not been seen as a key player by Bruno Lage last summer, hence his loan move away.

With Ruben Neves expected to leave, and with more maturity now in his game, it does feel as though the Englishman would be more of a key man this time around, but the damage may already be done.

To lose such a talented young player would be a big blow, considering how much he has to offer - he has been hailed as 'outstanding' by Barnsley manager Poya Asbaghi - and if he does leave, it is vital that the money is spent wisely.
