Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that Wolves could be 'slightly busy' in the January transfer window.

The Lowdown: Bottom at Christmas

The Molineux outfit will find themselves bottom of the Premier League table on Christmas Day after a poor start to the season, and new manager Julen Lopetegui will use this break for the World Cup in Qatar to assess his squad and what he may potentially need in January.

They have already been linked with moves for the likes of Pau Torres and Nacho Fernandez, suggesting that the 56-year-old wants to bring in a new centre-back, while Carlos Alcaraz is one name who has been touted as a potential midfield option.

The Latest: Wolves could be 'slightly busy'

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Sheth has outlined that Wolves could be 'slightly busy' in January, as they would want to back Lopetegui and get in the players that he is seeking.

The journalist said: "Wolves are in a difficult position just now, and I think they are going to need all the help they can get. So, I would predict that Wolves could be slightly busy in January, only because they’ve got a new manager and they’d want to back him."

The Verdict: Reinforcements needed

Given that Wolves are bottom of the top-flight table, reinforcements are certainly needed for the Midlands club in January.

They have four first-team players currently out with long-term injuries, with two of those being summer signing Sasa Kalajdzic and winger Pedro Neto, so they could look to bring in another attacker to help them become more prolific in the final third.

The Old Gold have managed just eight goals in the top flight so far, the fewest of any team in the division, so their attack should be the area of the pitch that they are aiming to strengthen the most.
