Wolves are currently one of the Premier League's most 'underrated' teams following an excellent season, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

The Lowdown: Wolves in the top-four race

Bruno Lage's side find themselves very much in the race for Champions League football, currently sitting six points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester United.

Wolves have played two games fewer, too, and last weekend's 2-0 win away to Tottenham was further proof that they aren't going away any time soon.

With a crucial visit of Leicester City arriving on Sunday afternoon, they have been paid huge praise by one journalist.

The Latest: Journalist makes bold claim

Speaking to Give Me Sport, O'Rourke claimed that few teams in the Premier League are more under-appreciated than the Wanderers:

"I think Wolves are a very underrated team in the Premier League. They’re going about their business quietly and are defensively one of the best in the Premier League."

The Verdict: Fully deserved praise

It is hard to disagree with O'Rourke's thought process, with very few giving Wolves a chance of finishing in the top four at the beginning of the season. In fact, European football of any kind was far from a given.

Instead, Lage has turned them into an extremely difficult team to break down - they have only conceded 17 goals in 23 league games - and they have beaten both Spurs and United away from home, both of whom are Champions League-chasing rivals.

Wolves don't receive too much praise from the widespread media which sums up their underrated tag - that would change if they finished in the top four, in what would be a truly outstanding achievement from Lage and his squad.
