Wolves are one of a number of clubs believed to be interested in signing Barcelona and Morocco youngster Abde Ezzalzouli, according to a new transfer rumour.

The Lowdown: Ezzalzouli part of Morocco squad

The 21-year-old was named in Morocco's squad for the 2022 World Cup and he played his part in his country reaching the semi-final against all odds.

Ezzalzouli may not have been a key starter in Qatar but he still made three appearances overall, including a 12-minute cameo in the semi-final defeat to France.

The youngster is on loan at Osasuna from Barca until the end of this season, but it could be that a permanent move away materialises in the near future.

The Latest: Wolves interested in move

According to Sport [via Sport Witness], Wolves are one of the 'most interested teams' when it comes to signing Ezzalzouli, but they aren't alone when it comes to tracking him.

Barca manager Xavi is keen to keep hold of the player, however, with only an 'irresistible offer' likely to be able to prise him away this year.

The Verdict: Good young option

Ezzalzouzi could be a strong signing by Wolves, providing Julen Lopetegui with the added attacking left-sided quality needed, following just 12 goals in 20 Premier League matches this season.

At 21, he is a long-term prospect who could thrive under the Spaniard at Molineux for years to come, but three goal contributions (one goal and two assists) for Osasuna in La Liga shows that he can already perform at a high level, not to mention playing at the World Cup.

Ezzalzouzi could provide competition for the likes of Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence, with the former yet to provide an assist and the latter not scoring at all in the league in 2022/23.
