Wolves: Agent of Wanderers target Carlos Alcaraz speaks out -Premier League News

Wolves appear to have been boosted in their potential efforts to sign Club Racing midfielder Carlos Alcaraz, with his agent revealing there is interest from England.

The Lowdown: Wolves linked with Alcaraz move

Julen Lopetegui will take charge of his first Wanderers game after the World Cup but for now, he may be eyeing up possible new signings in January.

One player who has been linked with a move to Molineux is Alcaraz, who is currently making a name for himself in his homeland of Argentina.

The 19-year-old defensive midfielder has made 19 league appearances this season and scored three goals, also playing 83 times overall, despite his age.

The Latest: Fresh update emerges

Speaking to Tuttosport [via Sport Witness], his agent has confirmed that there is interest from an unnamed English club, as well as from other countries:

“We have an option from England and another from Portugal, but neither the directors of Inter nor those of AC Milan have contacted me in these hours.

“We are waiting. The clubs we have spoken to are very important. Clearly Inter and AC Milan are very, very important. And obviously both options are more than welcome.

“Inter and Milan are two top clubs. The Nerazzurri, perhaps also because of what Diego Milito was and what Lautaro Martinez is now, are particularly interested in Carlos. Nobody then disputes the importance of Milan.”

“(He costs) around 15 million euros. Although the figure could be lowered by inserting a clause allowing Racing a percentage on future resale.”

The Verdict: Exciting young option

Whether or not Wolves are the English team in question remains to be seen but their recent interest certainly suggests that it could be for them.

Alcaraz, described as an ‘advanced playmaker’ by talent scout Jacek Kulig, could have the potential to be an exciting signing for the club, coming in as a younger version of Joao Moutinho and making things tick in the middle of the park.

Granted, he may take time to settle but planning for the long term is essential for Lopetegui and the young Argentine could mature into an accomplished Premier League player.
