Wolves defender Jonny is 'having a poor season' according to journalist Steve Madeley, who was speaking following the 4-0 defeat at home to Leicester City.

The Lowdown: Wolves stunned by Leicester

The Old Gold were hoping for a positive Premier League outing on Sunday afternoon but they ended up having a nightmare at Molineux. Leicester ran out 4-0 winners in the end, taking their chances in ruthless fashion, leaving many home supporters fuming by the time the final whistle arrived.

Jonny started the match but had a torrid time of things, losing possession seven times, being dribbled past once and generally looking off the pace throughout the contest.

The Latest: Madeley critical of Jonny

Taking to Twitter in response to a Wolves supporter who was critical of the 28-year-old, Madeley admitted in six simple words that the Spaniard is having a bad campaign to date, stating:

"Jonny is having a poor season."

The Verdict: Not the player he was

While Jonny is still only 28 years of age, he doesn't look the force that he was a few years ago, with two serious knee injuries seemingly taking an edge off his game and his seasonal WhoScored rating of 6.59 a significant drop from his first two Premier League campaigns.

He looked miles off it against Leicester - he wasn't alone among the home side in that respect, in fairness - and arguably looked less comfortable at right-back than he does on the left.

Jonny has started 11 of Wolves' 12 league games this season but now could be the time to take him out of the firing line, given his disappointing form.
