Wolves: Pedro Neto could be tempted by Arsenal move

Wolves: Pedro Neto could be tempted by Arsenal move -Wolves News

Wolves winger Pedro Neto could jump at the chance to move from Molineux to Arsenal before the transfer window ends, according to journalist Josh Holland.

The Lowdown: Neto linked with Arsenal

The Portuguese forward is one of the Old Gold’s most prized assets, considering the attacking quality that he possesses and the fact that he is still only 22 years of age.

Neto has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent days, with Mikel Arteta seeing him as someone who can add more quality to an already talented young squad in north London.

Wolves have three days to cling onto the player, with the transfer window ending at 11pm on Thursday night.

The Latest: Holland talks up possible Neves exit

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Holland claimed that Neto would want to join Arsenal if the chance arises in the coming days.

The Midlands-based journalist stated:

“I don’t think Wolves would allow Neto, such a big player, to go this late in the transfer window.

“Whether Neto would go to Arsenal, I think Arsenal are one of the most promising projects in the Premier League at the moment.

“So, if the move was right for Neto, I think he would want to go. But he’s not guaranteed minutes. At Wolves, he’s their star winger, whereas at Arsenal, they obviously have got Saka, Martinelli and Smith Rowe.”

The Verdict: Potential huge blow

Neto and Ruben Neves, who is also linked with a move elsewhere in the Premier League, are two of Wolves’ most gifted and trusted players, featuring for all but 37 minutes combined in the top flight so far this term, so losing either of them this week would be an enormous blow.

At 22, the former has so many years ahead of him, and in a Wolves squad too often lacking genuine quality and end product in the final third (just 38 league goals last season), he has it in abundance.

A return of 11 goals and 12 assists in 97 appearances for the club may not look earth-shattering, but it is good for an emerging talent, especially one playing in a far from prolific team.

It may be hard for Neto to say no to Arsenal if they come calling, though, with the Gunners top of the Premier League at the moment, so it would be difficult to begrudge him a move to the Emirates Stadium if his heart were set on going.
