Wolverhampton Wanderers journalist Steve Madeley has reacted to the ‘horrible moment’ when Youri Tielemans scored a world-class goal during the Premier League game vs Leicester City.

The Lowdown: Defeat at Molineux

The Old Gold hosted the Foxes at Molineux on Sunday afternoon but suffered a 4-0 defeat thanks to two first-half goals from Tielemans and Harvey Barnes, followed by two second-half goals from James Maddison and Jamie Vardy.

Despite Wanderers making a strong start to the game, one of the most notable moments was the Belgian’s stunning strike from outside the area that found the top corner, leaving Jose Sa with no chance.

The Latest: Madeley’s reaction

Taking to Twitter, Madeley insisted that Tielemans’ goal was a huge blow for Wolves, who were showing plenty of promising signs up until that point. He wrote:

“Horrible moment for Wolves after their bright start but that is some strike from Tielemans, first time from 25 yards after Wolves cleared a left-wing free kick.

“How's your luck?”

The Verdict: Proof is in the pudding

Whilst Wolves came out of the blocks with an initial improved performance against Brendan Rodgers’ side, the start they have made to this season has been hugely underwhelming.

The Midlands outfit have only recorded two wins from 12 and currently find themselves second from bottom in relegation, level on points with Nottingham Forest.

It was another disappointing day at the office for Steve Davis’ men, but it’s vitally important that they regroup and turn this form around to pick up some much-needed results heading into the World Cup break.
