# Wolves: Pedro Martins ‘hopeful’ of securing interview

**[Wolverhampton Wanderers](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/) could be set to receive a managerial approach, with Pedro Martins ‘hopeful’ of landing an interview at Molineux, according to journalist [Ryan Taylor](https://twitter.com/RyanTaylorSport).**

### The Lowdown: Hull negotiations crumble

The Old Gold have been [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/wolves-ruben-amorim-pete-o-rourke-bruno-lage-latest-manager-news-rumours-updates/) with several candidates ever since Fosun and Jeff Shi made the decision to sack Bruno Lage, with Martins one of those [name-checked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/wolves-premier-league-pedro-martins-news-updates/).

The Portuguese was on the verge of joining Hull City, though the deal [fell through](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63173463) at the last minute due to the two parties not being able to finalise terms, and it now sounds like he’s instead eyeing up a move to the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/).

### The Latest: Martins wants Wolves interview

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/ryantaylorsport/status/1578343982161137664?s=46&t=Gzb52xHMdtj9TA_6Eotzgw), Taylor revealed that Martins is keen to secure talks with Wolves chiefs after failing to reach an agreement with the Tigers. He wrote:

“Pedro Martins is hopeful of securing an interview with Wolves after pulling out of the Hull City job following extensive talks on Humberside.

“#HCAFC “inundated with interest from high-calibre coaches around the world” & exploring alternative options.”

### The Verdict: Get it done…

Hull’s loss is Wolves’ gain, and Martins would be a fantastic addition in the dugout given his exceptional track record.

During his time at Olympiacos, the Feira-born coach only lost [37](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-martins/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/16027/plus/0?saison_id=&verein_id=683&liga=&wettbewerb_id=&trainer_id=) of his 221 matches in charge (winning 143 and drawing 41), and even led his former side to [three](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-martins/erfolge/trainer/16027) consecutive Greek Super League titles.

This is exactly the level of consistency and success that needs to be instilled within the club, which is why Wanderers should aim to get this deal over the line as quickly as possible.
